Båten ägs idag av Jurriaan Gerretsen i staden Ithaca i delstaten New York (känd för sitt Universitet Cornell University)
Båten sjösattes för första gången på 20år i september 2019.

I have located the owner and have a few updates for your files. It appears that Ove L.Vennerod was the original owner and the current owner is only the second owner for this boat.
Evidently Ole sold the boat when he decided to return to Norway. I was told that this is the only Rival 22 in the USA.

As I had surmised, it has been several years since the boat was in the water but I was assured that the interior, sails and diesel were all in good condition.

It also has a folding prop. It is currently sitting in the yard of the owner's deceased mother's house, 3001 Sandhill Road, Palmyra, NY. He had not sailed in a few years and had tired of paying storage fees at a boatyard.

While all of this is goodness, it also leads to the current asking price of $11,000 US. This is significantly more than I am prepared to pay for this boat so the owner will need to continue to seek a buyer. It is probably a very fair price, but not one I am prepared to pay.

I will continue my search. Perhaps I will stumble upon a 9 or 10 meter cruiser that needs some work and a new home. One thing is certain, it will be hard to find another boat with the history that this one has.
